2005 Ford GT
2005 Ford GT
Ford has long been known for its muscle cars! This article offers background information, features, pricing, and specifications for the 2005 Ford GT sports model.
In 1966 through 1970, the original Ford GT won four consecutive victories at Le Mans, beating Ferrari and other exotic automakers. For almost forty years since, Ford Motor Company had no answer to the supercars being built by the Europeans. In 2002, Ford created the new GT Concept, and it was added to Ford's roster in 2005.
Styling is reminiscent of the original GT40 and conjures up both nostalgia and pride. The GT is powered by a mid-mounted, all-aluminum, twin-cam, supercharged and intercooled V8 coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission. It produces 500-horsepower and 500-ft/lbs of torque and, according to Motor Trend Magazine, rockets the supercar to 60-MPH in 3.7 seconds. Th's legend's back and ready to take on the world's best.
