Group Lotus
Group Lotus
Like many similar high performance sports cars, Group Lotus makes its vehicles in limited production. They have developed a dedicated following of car enthusiasts that enjoy its racecar-like vehicles. One of its most recent models includes the Elise.
Company History
According to those at Lotus, www.lotuscars.com, the first Lotus was built for a car competition and used by Colin Chapman in 1948. The racecar tradition continued until now. Like many high performance cars, Lotus has a dedicated following. Over the years, Lotus has made several models that embody aggressive styling and engineering. One of its more recent models includes the Elise.
Popular Models
Elise:
The Elise looks like something out of this world; its intimidating exterior commands attention. This sleek car is powered by a 1.8 liter inline 4-cylinder engine, giving it 190 horsepower. Kevin Smith of Motor Trend, www.motortrend.com, says that the interior of the Elise is quite small. He reports that some drivers may find themselves rubbing elbows with their passengers. However, this smaller interior is worthwhile considering that the car is extremely light and maneuverable.
Some other benefits listed by those at Edmunds, www.edmunds.com, include incredible steering capabilities and affordability when compared with other sports cars in this class. A few include peaky engine styling and a ride which'resembles Formula One style more than Grand Touring style.'
